Due Date

Due to some problems with my computer I wasn't able to edit the footage so I had to do it today in class. Luckily the teacher gave us a 'grace period' on Monday, so I still have the weekend to finish my editing part of the news story. Over the weekend I will finish my editing and by Monday I will combine my footage with Joyce's and we will be able to hand it in to the teacher along with our jewel cases.

Final Shooting

Today we finished Tracey's closing segment and now me and Joyce have divided the editing process so that we each have something to do. Before we hand it in to the teacher we will combine our footage together. Tomorrow we will continue with the editing process and if everything goes well we can hand it in tomorrow.

School Footage

Today wee went around to select classrooms to film the students doing their work and participating at school. Many teachers that we asked allowed us to film their classrooms, but before we could they wanted the students to be in uniform and to make sure that they were doing work in class. Tomorrow we will finish the news story by filming Tracy's closing segment.

Sick Day

Today I was away because I was not feeling well. I sent Joyce a message in the morning and hopefully they will continue to film Jorissa's interviews. Tomorrow I will be back because I cannot waste another day. We will continue to work on the ending and hopefully by Thursday we will begin and finish the editing to hand it in on Friday.

Editing Day 1

Jorissa needed to finish her pancrop so I began to sort the good and bad footage. Using the good footage I made a short editing video that included a few of the footage taken. I haven't done a lot but I did get to see the layout of how I want the footage the be. Tomorrow we will be filming our last interview with another student.

Pancrop Day 2

Today I finished my pancrop and I handed it in to the teacher. On Monday we should be filming our last interview and begin editing if everything goes well.

Pancrop Day 1

Today I worked on my pancrop and so did the rest of my group. I hope to finish this tomorrow and hand it to the teacher by the end of class. I have a few after effects components that I made at home and now I am putting everything together. I also put all the footage from the drama play onto a USB to give to Mrs.Artenosi.

Reporting

Today we filmed Jorissa's interview part. Our first interview was with a grade 10 student named Jade. A few questions that we asked her was "Why did she choose Brebeuf?", "What advice can she give to the grade 8s when picking a school?". We got a lot done but we still need to interview at least one more student next week. Tomorrow we decided to work on our pancrop assignment and to film next week.

Tracy's Intro

Today we did a shooting of Tracy's introduction. We shot with multiple angles and with lots of closeups to Tracy's dismay. Jorissa was not here today so we were unable to shoot her scenes that is why is is our priority tomorrow to shoot at least all or a few of Jorissa's scenes. We might need to book the camera for another day depending on how fast we can get the footage done in time.

Script Review

Today we reviewed the script as a group. We rearranged a few ideas we had and we contacted the people we are going to interview. Tomorrow we will be filming Tracy's introduction scene so I hope we will be able to get it done in time.

First Shooting

Today was our first official filming of the studio scene. Tomorrow I won't be doing anything as I will be helping Student government with Carnival. I will continue to work on the news intro at home.

News Brief Opening

Today Joyce and I filmed the opening for our news brief. We collected all the footage and I have already started working on the opening. Tomorrow Joyce and I will finish at least two of the openings as we might not get much filming done tomorrow. The script still isn't finished so the filming will be pushed back a few days. Tomorrow Jorissa and Tracy will continue with the story after our test. Here is the rough draft for the news brief opening.

Research

Today was a day of research of scripts and news introductions. Tomorrow we will shoot our news opening with the two reporters and 2 technical people. Hopefully this news introduction will be done by Monday and Thursday will remain as our first official shooting. Script should be finished by tomorrow and if it is not then our schedule will need to be pushed back a few necessary days. Also today I collected a few photos for my pan crop assignment and now I must create a script.

Still Images

Today was more script writing as well as shooting for our individual SJDB Spot. Joyce used one of the teacher's cameras today in order to take the necessary photos. Tomorrow I will bring my own camera and take a few pictures throughout the week. Me and Joyce also decided to create an opening credits for our news video and we scheduled to shoot it on Wednesday starring our two reporters, Joyce and I. Tomorrow I will hopefully begin the editing of the opening credits so it won't be left last minute. Also the script should be completed by tomorrow as we start shooting on Wednesday and Thursday.

May 23rd- Script Writing

Jorissa and Tracy have started the script writing, hopefully they will be done by Tuesday. Joyce and I have started thinking about the editing we would like to have in our news brief and what other necessary shots we might need. We have decided to also create a news intro featuring our reporters Jorissa and Tracy. I have searched some possibilities and hopefully on Monday I can show Joyce one that interests me and hopefully we will be able to do it. On Monday I will help Jorissa with the script writing and also include some of my thoughts and necessary footage that will be needed in the editing process.

First Day At Work

Today me and my technical partner, Joyce practiced setting up the camera and sound equipment. We took some practice footage with our reporter Jorissa and those have been saved on our computer. I hope that by tomorrow the producers will have finished the script and me and Joyce can begin filming. Tomorrow will be an uneventful day, hopefully we can schedule a day or two for filming. Tomorrow I will help with the script if necessary and also begin my individual pancrop assignment.

Camera

Today was mine and Joyce tutorials with the cameras and tripods. Hopefully tomorrow we can create a small video and set up the way our teacher has taught us to do so. Jorissa and Tracy have begun the creative process I estimate that by mid next week we can begin to film.

Tutorials & Pre-Production

Today was a day of planning and establishing the type of video news cast my group would like to create and submit to my teacher on June 13th. Tomorrow begins the preparation and storyboard of the news video. Tomorrow will also be my first day working with the teacher's camera, and getting to know how to use it properly since there was no time for that today. These are all the baby steps in pre-production.
